Once again the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Milwaukee Brewers.  On Thursday afternoon it was a 8-7 game that set the Blue Jays back.  The Blue Jays were swept in the three game series as they were outplayed every game.  I will give the team some credit as they did score six runs in the top of the ninth inning but a loss is a loss in the end.

A.J. Burnett fell to 6-7 on the season after only pitching five innings and giving up eight hits and eight runs.  Burnett had a problem as he gave up four walks and two home runs in the game.  He really should have known to keep the ball down against the hot hitting Brewers.

Brian Tallet and B.J. Ryan were able to hold the Brewers at eight runs as they pitched the final three innings without letting the Brewers score.  Good job by those two relievers.  To bad Burnett but the team in such a big hole to begin with.

Alex Rios had a rbi single in the eighth inning that scored Lyle Overbay for the Blue Jays first run of the game.  And then in the ninth inning it was Overbay going deep for a two run home run before Joe Inglett hit a grand slam to score four more runs.  The Blue Jays were still down one run however and ended up losing by that one run.

The Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Milwaukee Brewers and their starting pitcher Ben Sheets on Wednesday night by the score of 5-4.  The Blue Jays attempted a nice comeback as they scored single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings, but they still came up one run short.

Shaun Marcum fell to 5-4 on the season as he took the loss for the Blue Jays.  Marcum threw six innings and allowed six hits and four runs.  Marcum couldn’t keep the ball down as he gave up two home runs which really hurt him.

Shawn Camp gave up one run while only recording one out before Scott Downs came in and pitched 1 1/3 innings.  Jason Frasor also recorded one out which was the final out for the Brewers.

Greg Zaun went 3-2 with three rbi in the game.  Zaun also had a solo home run in the eighth inning that brough the Blue Jays within one run.  Joe Inglett had the only other recorded rbi for the Blue Jays as he had a rbi groundout in the seventh inning.

The Blue Jays now have to win on Thursday afternoon to avoid the three game sweep by the Brewers.

The Toronto Blue Jays had problems all night at the plate against the Milwaukee Brewers as they were shutout 7-0.  The Jays were only able to record four hits in the entire game while the Brewers were playing home run derby off the Blue Jays pitching staff.

Dustin McGowan only lasted four innings as he gave up four hits, four runs, and three home runs.  McGowan of course took the loss and fell to 5-5 on the season.  Brian Wolfe then came in and gave up one run which came on a home run.  Jesse Carlson pitched a scoreless seventh inning but then in the eighth inning, Jason Frasor gave up two runs on a home run.

As you can tell the Blue Jays pitchers were serving up beach balls to the Brewers batters.  They can’t do that if they want to pick up a victory in the series.

What a whacky ninth inning that seen the Seattle Mariners score the winning run while B.J. Ryan and manager John Gibbons were ejected.  The crazy inning ended a dissapointing three games series for the Blue Jays as they lost two out of three games against the Mariners.

In the ninth inning with the score 1-1, Ryan gave up a rbi single to Raul Ibanez that score Ichiro for the Mariners winning run. Ryan was upset because the inning should have been over on a called third strike but umpire Andy Fletcher called the pitch a ball.  It was a toughbreak for Ryan and Blue Jays who went on to lose 2-1.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Shaun Marcum pitched well enough to get a win but didn’t get any run support Marcum went seven innings while giving up seven hits and only one run.  Marcum had to settle with a no decision.

The one Blue Jays run came in the fourth inning when Matt Stairs grounded out to second and Joe Inglett scored.  The Blue Jays Blog would enjoy blogging about a good offense, but right now the batters just aren’t swinging the bats very good as you can see by only putting up one run on the scoreboard.

The Blue Jays will have an off day on Thursday and then will get back at things on Friday in an interleague matchup with the Chicago Cubs.

I know exactly what the Blue Jays fans are thinking right now.  How in the hell do you not score one run in the 10th inning when you have the bases loaded with zero outs.  Pretty much put the ball in play and you should score a run unless you get a hard hit ball directly to the first basemen like Lyle Overbay hit and all over a sudden you have two outs in the inning.

That wasn’t the end of it however as the next batter walked, and then David Eckstein was at the plate with the bases loaded and two outs with the Blue Jays still down one run to the Seattle Mariners.  Eckstein however flew out to center field and the Blue Jays ended up losing 3-2.

It was like the Jays just couldn’t get over the hump tonight.  If they really want to be a contender that is the type of the game have to pull out and get the win.

Jason Frasor took the loss for the Blue Jays as he gave up the suicide squeeze play in the top of the 10th inning to the Blue Jays.  Jesse Litsch had started the game and tossed six innings while giving up ten hits and two runs.

The two Blue Jays runs came on a rbi double by Overbay and then a infield rbi single by Vernon Wells.  Other then that the Blue Jays bats were pretty cold in the game.  They were not able to come up with a run or take advantage of the Mariners two errors.  That is something they have to start doing.

Ahh, now that was an up an down game for the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon against the New York Yankees.  Blue Jays close B.J. Ryan gave up three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Yankees came back to beat the Blue Jays 9-8.  The big hit was a walk off two run home run by Jason Giambi that won it for the Yankees.

Ryan didn’t have his good stuff at all in the ninth inning.  Before the Giambi home run, Ryan got the first two outs of the inning but then gave up singles to Alex Rodriguez and Hideki Matsui.  Ryan’s record dropped to 1-2 on the season with the loss.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Dustin McGowan pitched 5 1/3 innings while giving up seven hits and five runs to get a no decision.

Matt Stairs had a huge day at the plate as he went 3-5 with five rbi including a two run home run, two run single, and a rbi ground rule double.  Lyle Overbay had the Blue Jays other two rbi in the game in the fifth inning with a two run double.

The Toronto Blue Jays had all sorts of problems with Mike Mussina and the New York Yankees on Wednesday night.  The Blue Jays were only able to come up with six hits in the game and one run.

Jesse Litsch pitched 5 1/3 innings while giving up ten hits and four runs while taking the loss.  Litsch dropped to 7-2 on the year.  Just a bad game that was bound to happen sometime for him as he had been on a good run as of late.

Shawn Camp gave up one more run in relief before Scott Downs and Armando Benitez finished up the game for the Blue Jays on the mound.

The one run for the Blue Jays came in the sixth inning when Scott Rolen doubled and scored Alex Rios.  It was just a bad hitting night for the Jays.  Hopefully they will bounce back tomorrow against the Yankees and score more than one run.

The Toronto Blue Jays scored six runs in the seventh inning as they beat the New York Yankees by the score of 9-4 on Tuesday night.  The win was a huge game for the Blue Jays as the beat the Yankees and are now 32-28 on the season.

The Blue Jays got a couple of runs off Yankees starting pitcher Joba Chamberlain early in the game and then exploded in the sixth inning like we previously said.  David Eckstein led the Blue Jays with three rbi, Rod Barajas had two rbi and four other players had one rbi.  Marco Scutaro, Alex Rios, Scott Rolen, and Lyle Overbay all had one rbi in the game.

Roy Halladay was the winning pitcher as he won his seventh game of the season.  Halladay threw six innings while giving up six hits and two runs.  Brian Tallet, Jesse Carlson, and Jason Frasor finished up the final three games of the game.  Tallet gave up one run, but Carlson and Frasor did a pretty good job.

Now that is a old fashioned butt kicking right there as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Oakland Athletics 12-0 on Thursday afternoon.  The Blue Jays scored runs in all put three innings in the game as they kept the pressure on the A’s all afternoon long.

Even though the Blue Jays scored 12 runs and had 17 hits, only one of the hits was a home run.  The home run came in the ninth inning off the bat of Shannon Stewart.  It was a lot of singles and doubles for the Blue Jays that got the job done.

Stewart, Kevin Mench, and Rod Barajas all had three hits to lead the Blue Jays at the plate.  As far as rbi’s go, Barajas led the team with three rbi, followed by Stewart, Aaron Hill, and Brad Wilkerson who all had two runs batted in.  Mench, Marco Scutaro, and David Eckstein all had one rbi in the game as well.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Jesse Litsch pitched seven innings while giving up seven hits to get the win.  He is now 7-1 on the season and continues to throw the ball outstanding.

Jesse Carlson and Shawn Camp pitched final two scoreless innings of the game without any trouble.

Roy Halladay pitched eight great innings of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays were able to hold off the Oakland A’s on Wednesday night by the score of 2-1.  Halladay out dueled Rich Harden of the Athletics in the game as he picked up the win.

Halladay allowed eight hits but only one run over eight innings of action.  Halladay recorded nine strickouts while only walking one batter as well.  B.J. Ryan then came into the game in the ninth inning to secure the game and pick up his 12th save of the season.

Alex Rios had the game winning hit in the ninth inning off of Keith Foulke as he doubled to left field and scored Shannon Stewart.  Stewart actually got the Blue Jays on the scoreboard in the third inning when he had a rbi single to center field that plated Brad Wilkerson.

Usually two runs won’t get you a win, but it was good enough last night as Halladay was on top of his game.
