The Toronto Blue Jays held the Tampa Bay Rays to only six hits on Wednesday night as they went onto win by the score of 6-2.  Pretty much a dominating performance by the Jays who held the Rays scoreless until the ninth inning.

Shaun Marcum improved to 4-2 on the season as he pitched 8 2/3 innings while only giving up four hits and two runs.  He was taken out of the game with two outs in the ninth inning after giving up a two run double to B.J. Upton.  Scott Downs came into the game to record the final out.

Scott Rolen had two RBI and a home run to lead the Blue Jays at the plate.  Marco Scutaro also had two RBI.  Aaron Hill and Rod Barajas both had one RBI each in the game.

The Toronto Blue Jays had some trouble with the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night as the Rays beat the Blue Jays 6-4.  The Blue Jays could only get six hits in the game so they were actually lucky to put four runs on the board.

Jesse Litsch pitched 3.1 innings and gave up eigth hits and give earned runs.  Litsch was 2-0 on the season but took the loss to drop his record to 2-1.  Jesse Carlson relieved Litsch and gave up one earned run.  Shawn Camp and Scott Downs pitched the final 2.1 innings and allowed three total hits.

Marco Scutaro led the Blue Jays at the plate with two RBI.  Vernon Wells hit a solo home run in the sixth inning as well.

It was a busy day for the Toronto Blue Jays management today as they signed five players to contracts.  Scott Downs, Marco Scutaro, Jason Frasor, Gustavo Chacin, and Brian Tallet all signed with the Blue Jays today.

Scott Downs:  Downs received a three year contract worth $10 million.
Marco Scutaro:  Scutaro will be getting a two year contract worth $2.65 million.
Jason Frasor:  Frasor was signed to a one year deal worth $1.125 million.
Gustavo Chacin:  Chacin inked a one year deal for $725,000.
Brian Tallet:  Tallet signed a one year contract for $640,000.

What do you think Blue Jays fans?  Good deals for the ballclub?  The two big names of course are Downs and Scutaro.  Pretty decent signings if you ask me.
