Roy Halladay gave up nine hits and five runs over six innings as the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday night. The White Sox came away with a 6-5 victory. The Jays are still up two games to one in the series as they swept the double header on Tuesday after being rained out on Monday.

Alex Rios provided both runs for the Jays in the eighth inning when he hit a two-run homerun. Lyle Overbay then added a rbi single in the ninth and the Jays then scored another run on Marco Scutaro rbi double. The Jays weren’t done after the Scutaro double as Jose Bautista grounded out to shortstop to score one more run and draw the Jays within one run.

Good job by the team at the attempted comeback even though they did fall short by one run. Blue Jays Blog

The Toronto Blue Jays had all sorts of problems on Tuesday night as they were shut out by the Tampa Bay Rays 3-0. The Blue Jays had five hits compared to the Blue Jays six, but they were never able to get a rally going and come up with a big hit to score some runs.

Roy Halladay was out pitched by Matt Garza in the game. Halladay threw eight innings while giving up six hits and three runs to take the loss. Halladay is now 12-8 on the season. Halladay gave up a solo home run and a two run triple in the game.

Hopefully the Jays came come out on Wednesday and score some runs. Who knows if they have what it takes to pick up the win however.

The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Baltimore Orioles once again on Thursday and this time it was by the score of 7-1. It was the second straight game the Jays have limited the Orioles to only one run. They held them to one run and won earlier in the day 5-1. After losing the first game of the four game series, they were able to come back and win the next three games to win the series.

Roy Halladay pitched seven innings to record his 12th win of the season. Halladay allowed seven hits but only one run while striking out six batters. A nice quality start for Halladay which we have all grown accustomed to. Brian Tallet and Jason Frasor both tossed hitless innings in the 8th and 9th to finish up the game on the mound.

Lyle Overbay and Greg Zaun led the way at the plate as both players finished with two rbi each. Marco Scutaro and Brad Wilkerson both had one rbi as well to help out the offense.

The Blue Jays will now welcome the Seattle Mariners into town beginning on Friday night. Get out there and support your Jays! Blue Jays Baseball Blog

The Toronto Blue Jays and Cincinnati Reds played extra innings on Wednesday night and the Blue Jays came up just short as they lost 6-5. Jesse Carlson gave up a sac fly to Jay Bruce in the top of the tenth inning that scored Norris Hopper. The run was actually charged to Brian Wolfe and he took the loss on the the game.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Roy Halladay wasn’t his usual self as he only pitched six innings. Halladay gave up nine hits and four runs while walking four and striking out seven batters. Ken Griffey Jr. hit a two run home run off of Halladay in the first inning and it was more less downhill after that for Halladay.

The Blue Jays offense did score five un-answered runs to tie the game at 5-5 but they just couldn’t get that one last run in the game to pull out the come from behind victory. Adam Lind and Joe Inglett both hit two run home runs for the Blue Jays. Marco Scutaro singled in Lyle Overbay in the sixth inning for the final run and rbi for the Blue Jays in the sixth inning.

The Blue Jays will try to win the rubber game of the series on Thursday. Jesse Litsch will take the mound for the Blue Jays.

The Toronto Blue Jays scored six runs in the seventh inning as they beat the New York Yankees by the score of 9-4 on Tuesday night. The win was a huge game for the Blue Jays as the beat the Yankees and are now 32-28 on the season.

The Blue Jays got a couple of runs off Yankees starting pitcher Joba Chamberlain early in the game and then exploded in the sixth inning like we previously said. David Eckstein led the Blue Jays with three rbi, Rod Barajas had two rbi and four other players had one rbi. Marco Scutaro, Alex Rios, Scott Rolen, and Lyle Overbay all had one rbi in the game.

Roy Halladay was the winning pitcher as he won his seventh game of the season. Halladay threw six innings while giving up six hits and two runs. Brian Tallet, Jesse Carlson, and Jason Frasor finished up the final three games of the game. Tallet gave up one run, but Carlson and Frasor did a pretty good job.

Roy Halladay pitched eight great innings of baseball and the Toronto Blue Jays were able to hold off the Oakland A’s on Wednesday night by the score of 2-1. Halladay out dueled Rich Harden of the Athletics in the game as he picked up the win.

Halladay allowed eight hits but only one run over eight innings of action. Halladay recorded nine strickouts while only walking one batter as well. B.J. Ryan then came into the game in the ninth inning to secure the game and pick up his 12th save of the season.

Alex Rios had the game winning hit in the ninth inning off of Keith Foulke as he doubled to left field and scored Shannon Stewart. Stewart actually got the Blue Jays on the scoreboard in the third inning when he had a rbi single to center field that plated Brad Wilkerson.

Usually two runs won’t get you a win, but it was good enough last night as Halladay was on top of his game.

Matt Stairs hit a first inning grand slam and the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Minnesota Twins 6-5 on Wednesday night. It was a good thing that Stairs did hit the grand slam because the Blue Jays needed every run they could come by tonight against the Twins.

Stairs led the Blue Jays with four rbi. Brad Wilkerson had one rbi for the Blue Jays as well. The other run for the Blue Jays came on an error when Scott Rolen stole third base and the ball went into left field allowing Rolen to score.

Roy Halladay wasn’t his usual self as he gave up nine hits and four runs in only 6 2/3 innings. It was enough to get the win however as he improved his record to 4-5 on the season.

Jesse Carlson gave up one run in relief of Halladay but then Shawn Camp, Brian Tallet, and Scott Downs finished the game off. Downs picked up his fifth save of the season.

The Toronto Blue Jays lost a heart breaking game to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night 1-0. The game had a 16 minute delay, and then Roy Halladay and Jon Lester locked in for a nice pitching duel.

Hallady tossed 8.2 innings but did take the loss. Hallady gave up a single to Kevin Youkilis in the bottom of the ninth that scored David Ortiz for the game winning run. Tough luck for Hallady who pitched well enough to pick up the win.

The Blue Jays didn’ thave much offense at all against the Red Sox. Two hits were all the Blue Jays could muster against Lester and Jonathan Papelbon.

We will see if the Blue Jays can bounce back tomorrow when they play the Red Sox again.

Roy Halladay threw a complete game on Thursday night but the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Texas Rangers by the score of 4-1. Halladay wasn’t his normal self as he allowed eleven hits and four earned runs. Usally when Halladay throws a complete game, the Blue Jays win the ballgame, but that wasn’t the case against the Rangers.

The lone run for the Blue Jays came off the bat of David Eckstein who had a RBI infield single in the seventh inning. It was bad that the Blue Jays offense couldn’t score enough runs to pick up the win for Halladay, but sometimes that is just the case.

Hopefully the Blue Jays will play better in their next game and pick up a win.
