The Toronto Blue Jays were in line to sweep the Detroit Tigers in a four game series however the Jays allowed five runs in the eighth inning and the Tigers came from behind to win 5-1. It was still a good series for the Jays however as they won three out of four games and are now at 62-59 on the season.

Jason Frasor was the relief pitcher that was charged with all five runs in the eighth inning. Frasor took the loss and is now 1-2 on the season. Starting pitcher Jesse Litsch threw seven shutout innings to get a no decision. Litsch threw the ball very well as he only gave up four hits in his seven innings of action.

The one run for the Blue Jays came in the fifth inning when Lyle Overbay hit a solo home run off of Armando Galararraga. Galaragga dominated the Blue Jays lineup all afternoon.

The Blue Jays will now head to Boston for a weekend series. If they want any chance at getting back into the playoff race, they need to sweep the Red Sox and go on a nice long winning streak. I think that is just too much to ask for however. What do you think?

The Toronto Blue Jays did not start their series with the Baltimore Orioles exactly how they wanted to on Monday night as they lost 8-3. Blue Jays starting pitcher Jesse Litsch pitched a terrible game as he only lasted 4 2/3 innings and gave up seven hits and six runs. Litsch had problems in the third and fifth inning before he exited the game.

Brandon League and Jason Frasor threw the ball after Litsch was taken out of the game. Frasor didn’t have a good outing as he gave up two runs in one inning of action by League tossed 2 1/3 innings without allowing a run.

The Blue Jays got rbi’s from Scott Rolen, Rod Barajas, and Alex Rios is the game but it wasn’t even close to being enough as the O’s put up eight runs on the Blue Jays pitching staff.

The Blue Jays will try to get back in the win column on Tuesday. Blue Jays Blog

The Toronto Blue Jays were leading the Seattle Mariners by the score of 6-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning but then the Mariners scored four runs unanswered runs to beat the Blue Jays 7-6. The Blue Jays bullpen just couldn’t get the job done as Jesse Carlson and Scott Downs both stunk it up.

Carlson and Downs both gave up two runs each late in the game after they came in to relieve starting pitcher Jesse Litsch. Litsch pitched 5 2/3 innings but gave up ten hits and three runs. Only one of those three runs were earned however. It was just not a good day to be a Blue Jays relief pitcher and I have to put all the blame on Carlson and Downs in this game.

Adam Lind led the Blue Jays at the plate with a two run double and a rbi single in the game to finish with three rbi. Greg Zaun had two rbi as he had a rbi single and also a rbi fielders choice. Vernon Wells recorded one rbi as he had a rbi double in the fourth inning. That was all the offense for the Blue Jays on the night.

I know exactly what the Blue Jays fans are thinking right now. How in the hell do you not score one run in the 10th inning when you have the bases loaded with zero outs. Pretty much put the ball in play and you should score a run unless you get a hard hit ball directly to the first basemen like Lyle Overbay hit and all over a sudden you have two outs in the inning.

That wasn’t the end of it however as the next batter walked, and then David Eckstein was at the plate with the bases loaded and two outs with the Blue Jays still down one run to the Seattle Mariners. Eckstein however flew out to center field and the Blue Jays ended up losing 3-2.

It was like the Jays just couldn’t get over the hump tonight. If they really want to be a contender that is the type of the game have to pull out and get the win.

Jason Frasor took the loss for the Blue Jays as he gave up the suicide squeeze play in the top of the 10th inning to the Blue Jays. Jesse Litsch had started the game and tossed six innings while giving up ten hits and two runs.

The two Blue Jays runs came on a rbi double by Overbay and then a infield rbi single by Vernon Wells. Other then that the Blue Jays bats were pretty cold in the game. They were not able to come up with a run or take advantage of the Mariners two errors. That is something they have to start doing.

The Toronto Blue Jays had all sorts of problems with Mike Mussina and the New York Yankees on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays were only able to come up with six hits in the game and one run.

Jesse Litsch pitched 5 1/3 innings while giving up ten hits and four runs while taking the loss. Litsch dropped to 7-2 on the year. Just a bad game that was bound to happen sometime for him as he had been on a good run as of late.

Shawn Camp gave up one more run in relief before Scott Downs and Armando Benitez finished up the game for the Blue Jays on the mound.

The one run for the Blue Jays came in the sixth inning when Scott Rolen doubled and scored Alex Rios. It was just a bad hitting night for the Jays. Hopefully they will bounce back tomorrow against the Yankees and score more than one run.

Now that is a old fashioned butt kicking right there as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Oakland Athletics 12-0 on Thursday afternoon. The Blue Jays scored runs in all put three innings in the game as they kept the pressure on the A’s all afternoon long.

Even though the Blue Jays scored 12 runs and had 17 hits, only one of the hits was a home run. The home run came in the ninth inning off the bat of Shannon Stewart. It was a lot of singles and doubles for the Blue Jays that got the job done.

Stewart, Kevin Mench, and Rod Barajas all had three hits to lead the Blue Jays at the plate. As far as rbi’s go, Barajas led the team with three rbi, followed by Stewart, Aaron Hill, and Brad Wilkerson who all had two runs batted in. Mench, Marco Scutaro, and David Eckstein all had one rbi in the game as well.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Jesse Litsch pitched seven innings while giving up seven hits to get the win. He is now 7-1 on the season and continues to throw the ball outstanding.

Jesse Carlson and Shawn Camp pitched final two scoreless innings of the game without any trouble.

Jesse Litsch improved his record to 5-1 as he picked up the win. Litsch pitched 5 2/3 innings while giving up four hits and two runs in the game. Armando Benitez was the only other Blue Jays pitcher to give up a run as he gave up one run in relief. B.J.
Vernon Wells had a two run home run and then Aaron Hill had a rbi single in the ninth inning as the Blue Jays scored three runs to tie the game. That was the only scoring they would do however as the Rays held them scoreless in extra innings.

Shawn Camp gave up five runs including a grand slam in the 13th inning to take the loss for the Blue Jays. Blue Jays starting pitcher Jesse Litsch pitched seven innings and allowed five hits and three runs in the game.

The Toronto Blue Jays were not quite able to pull off the come from behide win against the Texas Rangers as they lost 7-5 in fourteen innings. The Blue Jays had scored three runs in the bottom of the eigth inning to tie the game and eventually send it into extra innings.

A.J. Burnett took the loss for the Blue Jays as he was pitching in relief. He had a wild pitch that scored the winning run, and then also gave up another run on a single that the Rangers used for insurance.

Jesse Litsch started the game for the Blue Jays and only pitched five innings. He allowed nine hits and four runs.

Alex Rios, Vernon Wells, Marco Scutaro, and Joe Inglett all had one RBI for the Blue Jays.
