Matt Stairs connected on a solo home run in the seventh inning to give the Toronto Blue Jays the only run they would need as they went onto beat the Chicago White Sox 1-0.  The Blue Jays offense struggled, but the pitchers were there to pick up the hitters on Monday night.

Dustin McGowan pitched 7 1/3 innings and only gave up four hits.  Great performance out of McGowan who struckout six batters while not walking a batter.  The win was McGowan’s second of the season.  B.J. Ryan struggled in the ninth inning as he walked three batters to load the bases but got out of the jam to pick up his fifth save of the season.

Good win for the Blue Jays as they improved their record to 16-17 on the season.
