The Toronto Blue Jays scored three additional runs and defeated the Baltimore Orioles 5-1.  They played the game early this morning and then will play the originally scheduled game shortly after the first one is over.  It was nice to see the Jays come out and score runs right away and put the game out of reach.

Marco Scutaro, Lyle Overbay, and John McDonald all had one rbi each in the game.  The other two runs that the Jays scored were unearned.

A.J. Burnett was awarded the win after he threw five innings on Wednesday night.  Burnett is now 11-9 with a 4.73 era.  Jesse Carlson, Shawn Camp, and Scott Downs all pitched in relief for the Jays and all did a good job.

The Toronto Blue Jays scored eight runs in the 5th and 6th innings to defeat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 10-8 on Tuesday night.  It was a great vicotry for the Jays as they evened up the four game series at one game each.

Alex Rios and Adam Lind both hit home runs in the game.  Rios hit a solo shit while Lind had the big home run which was a three run shot.  John McDonald led the team with four rbi as he had a bases loaded clearing double and then a sac fly in the game.  Matt Stairs, Rod Barajas, and Rios all finished the game with one rbi each.

Shaun Marcum only lasted 4 2/3 innings as he gave up eight hits and seven runs before being pulled out of the game.  Marcum gave up three home runs in the game and he was lucky to come away with a no decision in the game.  The bullpen did a great job after Marcum was taken out of the game as they held the O’s to seven runs while the offense came to the rescue for the most part.

Jesse Carlson, Shawn Camp, Scott Downs, and B.J. Ryan all threw out of the bullpen for the Jays.  Carlson, Camp, and Downs didn’t allow a run but Ryan gave up one run in the 9th inning.  Ryan was able to settle down and record his 19th save however.

The Toronto Blue Jays did not start their series with the Baltimore Orioles exactly how they wanted to on Monday night as they lost 8-3.  Blue Jays starting pitcher Jesse Litsch pitched a terrible game as he only lasted 4 2/3 innings and gave up seven hits and six runs.  Litsch had problems in the third and fifth inning before he exited the game.

Brandon League and Jason Frasor threw the ball after Litsch was taken out of the game.  Frasor didn’t have a good outing as he gave up two runs in one inning of action by League tossed 2 1/3 innings without allowing a run.

The Blue Jays got rbi’s from Scott Rolen, Rod Barajas, and Alex Rios is the game but it wasn’t even close to being enough as the O’s put up eight runs on the Blue Jays pitching staff.

The Toronto Blue Jays were down 5-4 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning but they scored two runs to come back and defeat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 6-5.  The two run comeback completed a three game sweep of the Orioles and improved the Blue Jays record to 45-47.

Lyle Overbay tied the game in the ninth inning with a rbi sac fly and then Adam Lind hit the game winning run with a rbi single.  Little guy David Eckstein led the team with two rbi while Joe Inglett, Alex Rios, Overbay, and Lind all contributed with one rbi each.  Great job by the offense for coming through when they needed to!

Shawn Camp who pitched the top of the ninth inning notched the win in the game and is now 2-1 on the season.  Blue Jays starting pitcher John Parrish lasted seven innings as he gave up six hits and three runs.  It was a good quality start out of Parrish as he got the no decision.  The two relief pitchers after Parrish left the were not good however.  Brian Tallet gave up one run and then Brandon League gave up another run.  The offense really bailed out Tallet and League.

The Blue Jays will now wait for the Yankees to get into town and they will start a three game series on Friday.

The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Baltimore Orioles in a high scoring game on Wednesday night by the score of 9-8.  Both teams had high scoring innings as the Jays had a seven run inning and the Orioles had a six run inning.  It was nice to see the Blue Jays come out on top of this one.

David Eckstein and Alex Rios both had two rbi to lead the team at the plate.  Vernon Wells, Scott Rolen, Greg Zaun, and John McDonald all had one rbi as well.  It was a balanced offense as there was scoring up and down the entire lineup in the game.  Great job by the offense to score so many runs.

On to the pitcher staff where A.J. Burnett gave up seven hits and seven runs in only in only 5 1/3 innings.  It seemed either Burnett was striking out batters or giving up hits.  Burnett finished with seven strike outs as he pitched good enough to get the win and improve his record to 9-8.

B.J. Ryan gave up a solo home run in the 9th inning to Nick Markakis but held off the Orioles to notch his 17th save of the season.  Jesse Carlson tossed 1 2/3 innings and gave up three hits but zero runs.  Scott Downs tossed one inning of relief without giving up a hit or a run as well.

Good win for the Blue Jays and now they will go for the sweep on Thursday.  Blue Jays Blog

The Toronto Blue Jays scored five unanswered runs and scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as they defeated the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 7-6.  It was a crazy ending to the game as Alex Rios scored on a fielders choice by Scott Rolen.  Orioles shortstop Feddie Bynum committed an error on the play as well that allowed Rios to score the winning run.

Rios finished the game with three rbi while Vernon Wells was right behind him with two rbi.  Rod Barajas had an rbi for the Jays as well in the game.

B.J. Ryan improved his record to 2-3 on the season as he pitched the top of the ninth inning to get the victory.  Dustin McGowan was the starting pitcher for the Jays and he lasted four innings.  McGowan gave up four hits and four runs including one home run in the game as he ended up with a no decision.   Jason Frasor had a bad game out of the pen as he gave up two hits and two runs as well.

The Blue Jays will try to go up 2-0 in the series as they face off against the Orioles again on Wednesday night.

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Dustin McGowan gave up four runs over six innings and the Blue Jays offense wasn’t able to pick him up as the Jays lost to the A’s by the score of 4-2.  McGowan didn’t pitch that bad as he gave up six hits and only walked one while striking out five.  In the end though he dropped to 6-7 on the season.

After McGowan left the game, Brandon League pitched the final two innings and gave up two hits but no runs.  League did a good job of keeping the A’s at only four runs and giving the offense a chance to come back.

The offense however struggled all night long as they were only able to put to runs on the scoreboard.  Both of the run came in the fifth inning when Adam Lind hit a two run home run.  The Jays struck out six times and left 14 runners on base in the game.

The Blue Jays will now be off on Thursday and then start up a weekend series with the Los Angeles Angels.

The Toronto Blue Jays were leading the Seattle Mariners by the score of 6-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning but then the Mariners scored four runs unanswered runs to beat the Blue Jays 7-6.  The Blue Jays bullpen just couldn’t get the job done as Jesse Carlson and Scott Downs both stunk it up.

Carlson and Downs both gave up two runs each late in the game after they came in to relieve starting pitcher Jesse Litsch.  Litsch pitched 5 2/3 innings but gave up ten hits and three runs.  Only one of those three runs were earned however.  It was just not a good day to be a Blue Jays relief pitcher and I have to put all the blame on Carlson and Downs in this game.

Adam Lind led the Blue Jays at the plate with a two run double and a rbi single in the game to finish with three rbi.  Greg Zaun had two rbi as he had a rbi single and also a rbi fielders choice.  Vernon Wells recorded one rbi as he had a rbi double in the fourth inning.  That was all the offense for the Blue Jays on the night.

The Toronto Blue Jays used a 7-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday night to take two out of three games from the Reds in the series.  It was a good series win for the Blue Jays and they are now 38-42 on the season as they inch closer and closer to getting back to the .500 mark.

Jesse Litsch started the game for the Blue Jays and pitched a great game as he lasted eight innings and picked up the win.  Litsch only gave up three hits and one run while striking out six batters.  It was a very good quality start out of Litsch, exactly what the Blue Jays were hoping for.

Brian Tallet pitched the ninth inning for the Jays and gave up one hit and one walk in the inning before finishing off the Reds.

Scott Rolen went 3-4 and finished the game with three rbi including a two run home run in the second inning.  Lyle Overbay and Vernon Wells both had a good game as well as the both went 1-4 with two rbi in the game.  It was a very well rounded game for the Blue Jays at the plate.

The Blue Jays will not take on the Atlanta Braves in a interleague matchup starting on Friday.  The Blue Jays will have to play well to get a series win against the Braves in my opinion.

The Toronto Blue Jays and Cincinnati Reds played extra innings on Wednesday night and the Blue Jays came up just short as they lost 6-5.  Jesse Carlson gave up a sac fly to Jay Bruce in the top of the tenth inning that scored Norris Hopper.  The run was actually charged to Brian Wolfe and he took the loss on the the game.

Blue Jays starting pitcher Roy Halladay wasn’t his usual self as he only pitched six innings.  Halladay gave up nine hits and four runs while walking four and striking out seven batters.  Ken Griffey Jr. hit a two run home run off of Halladay in the first inning and it was more less downhill after that for Halladay.

The Blue Jays offense did score five un-answered runs to tie the game at 5-5 but they just couldn’t get that one last run in the game to pull out the come from behind victory.  Adam Lind and Joe Inglett both hit two run home runs for the Blue Jays.  Marco Scutaro singled in Lyle Overbay in the sixth inning for the final run and rbi for the Blue Jays in the sixth inning.

The Blue Jays will try to win the rubber game of the series on Thursday.  Jesse Litsch will take the mound for the Blue Jays.
