The Toronto Blue Jays gave up four runs to the Oakland Athletics in the 9th inning and ended up losing the game 6-3.  What a bad way to lose a ballgame as the Blue Jays were leading heading into the 9th inning.

Jeremy Accardo allowed all four earned runs in the 9th inning and took the loss for the Blue Jays.  Accardo pitched terrible, and that is just something that you don’t want to see out of your relief pitcher.

The Blue Jays didn’t have much offense but Vernon Wells and Aaron Hill both had one RBI each.

The Toronto Blue Jays came back and tied the game in the 8th inning but were not able to come back all the way as they fell to the Oakland Athletics by the score of 9-8.  Jeremy Accardo picked up the loss after he gave up a two out single to Kurt Suzuki and then a triple to Ryan Sweeney that scored the winning run for the Athletics.

Vernon Wells led the Blue Jays with three RBI, Frank Thomas and Aaron Hill chipped in with two RBI, and David Eckstein batted one run in.  Thomas also hit his third homerun and his third in the last three games.

A.J. Burnett got whooped up on by the Athletics hitters.  He only lasted 4.2 innings and gave up ten hits and six earned runs.  The Blue Jays were battling back from that deficit the entire game and could’t quite get over the hump.

The Toronto Blue Jays sure seem to have the Boston Red Sox’s number as they once again defeated the Red Sox.  The Blue Jays have now beat the Red Sox six straight times after the 10-2 pounding on Saturday.

Little man David Eckstein led the Blue Jays with three RBI, Frank Thomas collected two RBI, and Alex Rios, Vernon Wells, Lyle Overbay, and Greg Zaun all chipped in with one RBI each.  Thomas had a two run homerun for his two RBI.

It was a combined effort by the Blue Jays pitching staff to hold down the Red Sox.  Jesse Litsch started the game and pitched five innings, Brian Tallet, Brian Wolfe, Jason Frasor, and Randy Wells all pitched an inning.  Litsch was the only pitcher to allow an earned run as he let in two runs.

Overall it was a great performance by the entire Blue Jays team.  They will go for their seventh straight win over the Red Sox on Sunday.

The Toronto Blue Jays were held in check through five innings by Red Sox starter Tim Wakefield, but in the sixth inning they finally broke through for three runs and eventually went on to win the game by the score of 6-3.

After scoring three runs in the sixth inning, the Blue Jays tacked on two runs in the seventh inning, and another insurance run in the eight inning.  Frank Thomas led the team with two RBI, while Matt Stairs, David Eckstein, Lyle Overbay, and Aaron Hill contributed with one RBI each.

Shaun Marcum picked up the win for the Blue Jays as he pitched seven innings and only gave up three hits.  One of those hits however was a three run homerun off the bat of J.D. Drew that tied the game in the seventh inning.  Other then that Marcum pitched pretty good!

Jeremy Accardo picked up the save, his second of the season.

The Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees played another close ballgame, but once again the Yankees came out on top with a one run victory.  On Thursday, the Yankees defeated the Blue Jays 3-2.

Dustin McGowan pitched very well until the 6th inning when he ran into trouble.  He ended up loading the bases with zero outs and then threw a wild pitch that scored Johnny Damon.  Alex Rodriguez then struck out, and Jason Giambi hit a sacrafice fly to tie the game at 2-2.

The Yankees ended up getting the winning run in the bottom of the 8th inning when Bobby Abreu singled in Milky Cabrera.

For the Blue Jays at the plate, David Eckstein and Alex Rios both had an RBI each.  The Blue Jays need some other players to help out if they want to win these close ball games in the future.
